New and previously registered producers must supply brand(s) information under Minnesota’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) law during the 2026 reporting window. Producers who have not yet reported brand information should take prompt action to submit their Interim Producer Reports by June 20, 2026.

Minnesota

Minnesota’s Packaging Waste and Cost Reduction Act requires producers of packaging, food packaging and paper products to join a Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) and through the PRO, partially fund end of life management for covered materials, including recycling.

On Feb. 18, 2025, the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) confirmed CAA’s registration to implement the state’s EPR program. Producers must be a member of a PRO that is registered with MPCA by July 1, 2025.
